‘Doctor Strange’ Opens to Marvelous $87.7M Overseas

We’re still a few days away from the U.S. release of Doctor Strange, but it’s already making quite an impact overseas. It just launched last weekend in 33 different offshore markets, and the new Marvel superhero flick already earned $87.7 million.

‘Doctor Strange’ will blow your mind.

The film pulled in the most money in Korea, where it earned $18.1 million. Though analysts were expecting it to do about the same as Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy in these markets, it earned a whopping 49% more than Ant-Man and 37% more than Guardians of the Galaxy.

We can’t be too surprised that it’s doing well already–the critic response to the screenings has been absolutely fantastic, and if anything, fans tend to enjoy superhero movies even more than the critics.

Things are looking good for Marvel fans! Are they ever not? Doctor Strange premiered in Hollywood and New York last night, and we were anxiously biting our nails waiting to hear what the critics think. Sure, we’re guessing it is going to be a massive hit, but you never know what horrible things those critics will dig up to whine about.

That being said, all reports back are looking favorable for the newest Marvel flick to hit theaters. Here are what some of the critics have said:

For those of us who weren’t lucky enough to go to the premiere, we’ll have to wait until Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4, 2016.
