What do the critics think? For once, this is a week in which that might not matter. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is pure a razzle-dazzle, feel-good funny story of sci-fi misfits; even if it got panned, it’s wonderful. And it did well with critics – which shouldn’t be mistaken for anything but loud cheering. From an intellectual point of view, it scores zero. But for pure fun – whatever number you want to give it works for me.
OK, the real critics, surveyed by Rotten Tomatoes, came up with an 82 percent approval rating for Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2, putting it on the top of the week’s list, anyway. It’s followed by Beauty and the Beast (71 percent approval), The Fate of the Furious (67 percent), Gifted (64 percent), The Boss Baby (53 percent), Going In Style (45 percent), How to Be a Latin Lover (45 percent), Smurfs: The Lost Village (38 percent) and The Circle (16 percent).
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has not been given a Rotten Tomatoes score.
