Isaacs will be playing Captain Lorca in the new CBS All Access Star Trek reboot. They have a 13 episode run planned out, which will air over the summer. The new series will serve as a prequel to the original Star Trek, taking place about 10 years before the William Shatner fronted series.
This will also be the first Star Trek reboot to happen in 12 years (at least in the television realm). Star Trek: Enterprise got canceled in 2005.
“It’s important to get it right,” said CBS Chairman Les Moonves. “Star Trek is the family jewels. We’re not going to rush it in. There’s a lot of post-production. But I’m very confident based on what I’ve seen so far.”
Jason Isaacs for his part also seems very excited. He tweeted out a sly remark about his new seat yesterday:
Nice chair. Hope it’s comfy. pic.twitter.com/xwfdWAmBQW
