Spider-Man: Homecoming came out in July of 2017. It was a pretty highly-anticipated movie because it was the first time Marvel was allowed to use the character after Sony held the rights to the teen hero. Well, the first time for an official full-length film. Actor Tom Holland’s Spider-Man nabbed a brief role in Captain America: Civil War the previous year.
Because people have high expectations for Marvel, it was pretty important that screenwriters Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers get it right. And get it right, they did!
According to critic review site RottenTomatoes.com, 92% of critics give Spider-Man: Homecoming a thumbs up. It even earned a “certified fresh” rating from the site itself.
Sometimes fans and critics can be on vastly different pages, but not with this. Fans also loved the new Marvel installment. RottenTomatoes reports that 90% of fans were into the film.
