Nobody had the guts to ask him if he disliked any of the actors, but Comic Book Resources did have the courage to press him on his least favorite Marvel movie in a recent interview.
Stan Lee’s response isn’t actually all that surprising here, either.
“I was a little disappointed in the very first Fantastic Four, because I didn’t care for how Doctor Doom was portrayed. But other than that, I thought the movie was great. And the actors were terrific,” Lee said.
He went on to be more complimentary–after all, he wouldn’t publicly bash something that stemmed from his own creations, right? “I believe they captured the spirit and the intent of all of the characters, and I’m delighted with how they all turned out,” Lee added.
He then backtracked a bit on the whole “disappointed” thing: “None of them have disappointed me. in fact, I think all of these movies have come out better than everybody ever thought they would. Even the early ones were good. Maybe I’m just my own biggest fan.”
