Watch: Mark Ruffalo talks The Hulk!
Even though Captain America: Civil War was pretty much an Avengers movie, there were a few key cast members missing from the action. Most notably, Thor and the Hulk, a.k.a. Bruce Banner (played by Mark Ruffalo), were absent from the fray. So what has Banner been up to? A set photo from Thor: Ragnarok showing a mysterious Avengers quinjet may reveal some details.
At the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, we saw the Hulk leap into the quinjet Ultron was attempting to escape in and tearing the villain from the jet. Of course, Ultron meets his demise back on the ground, but the last we see of the Hulk is him sitting in the jet with Natasha Romanov, a.k.a. Black Widow, speaking to him over a video feed.
Black Widow attempts to get him to turn off the stealth mode so SHIELD can track him, but instead he shuts off the video feed, cutting off all communication. Later on, Nick Fury tells Romanov that the jet landed near Fiji. That was the last we’ve seen of the Hulk.
Fans have long been wondering what would happen to Bruce Banner after this flight. It was also a mystery how he would find his way to teaming up with Thor, who is usually found in a different galaxy.
Early on in the filmmaking process, we learned that Thor: Ragnarok would be sort of a buddy movie featuring both Thor and Hulk, but nobody knew how they’d wind up together.
