Thor: Ragnarok Tickets Are Here!Ready to journey back to Asgard? It’s been four years since we got a new Thor movie, but Thor: Ragnarok is now upon us. And tickets are on sale!
Thor: Ragnarok is the third film focusing specifically on the god of thunder. Of course, Thor, played with good humor by Chris Hemsworth, has appeared in other Marvel movies like The Avengers. But it’s only in his solo movies that we get a glimpse of the magical, advanced land of Asgard, where the gods live.
So what’s the story so far?
The first Thor came out in 2011. In that film, we met a very young, not-yet-ready-to-rule Thor. After unnecessarily causing conflict with the frost giants, his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) casts him out of Asgard down to our lowly realm of Midgard, a.k.a. Earth.
Once on Earth, he encounters scientists Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard), who help him gain back his hammer and become worthy to return to Asgard and face off against his adopted brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston).
In the 2013 follow-up Thor: The Dark World, we pick up where The Avengers left off. Loki is imprisoned on Asgard for trying to take over Earth. However, when Thor faces the dark elves and doesn’t see eye to eye with Odin about how to deal with them, he requires the trickster’s help. The two brothers join forces to dispatch with the bigger threat and return Asgard to its former glory.
Now, Thor: Ragnarok is coming out on November 3, 2017. Of course, Thor himself has had some adventures in between. Judging by the trailers for Thor: Ragnarok, his sense of humor has only expanded.
Thor: Ragnarok Trailer
In Thor: Ragnarok, Thor will face off against the goddess of death, Hela (Cate Blanchett). In the process, he’s imprisoned by the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) and forced to duke it out gladiator-style against the Hulk. How will Loki fit into all of this? Who knows–it’s impossible to predict how the god of mischief will act.
