‘Wonder Woman’ Smashes Female-Directed Opening Weekend Record

So, are we into our summer doldrums already? Let’s hope not. This week, six of the top 10 revenue makers earned “splat” ratings at Rotten Tomatoes. In ascending order, Diary of a Wimpy Kid has an 18 percent approval rating, followed by Baywatch (20 percent), King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (28 percent), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (29 percent), Snatched (36 percent) and Everything, Everything (46 percent).

Recommended this week: Alien: Covenant (71 percent approval rating), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (81 percent), Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (85 percent) and Wonder Woman (93 percent).

 

Opening this week are four feature films that have current Rotten Tomatoes approval ratings of 77 percent or higher. Those are Beatriz at Dinner, My Cousin Rachel, Megan Leavey and It Comes At Night.
