The Greek Translation of ‘Birth of a New Day’. This is an unconventional story about redemption.
TAGLINE AND/OR TEASER
“Meet Izzy; she’s crazy. Or she’s a god.”
Izzy is a patient at a mental hospital who claims to be a god. Divine, her psychiatrist, tries to help her, only to begin to doubt her own explanations.
SYNOPSIS (WHAT WOULD GO ON THE BACK OF A BOOK)
In 2018 an older white female checks into The Odyssey Treatment Center for Rehab in Harlem, NYC. Although not physically ill, during her evaluation she claims to be from the planet Asgard, where she was passed around and taken advantage of by the Gods to reap the benefits of her one power – she makes apples that give God’s youth and immortality.
She is Izzy and she’s a woman scorned that’s banished herself to earth knowing that the Gods will die without her and because so, the balance of the universe will be altered.
This is her journey of discovery and her journey to birth of a new day, for she knows when the Gods die, new ones will come. And in her opinion BETTER GODS. She will make sure of it.
Divine Sims, head counselor of the Center makes Izzy a priority because of the larger than life stories she tells. Stories like her being kidnapped, and turned into a nut then stolen back by Gods and Giants for her apples. Stories of Zeus, Odin, Poseidon, Demeter and, Apollo all violating her – for her apples.
The stories also make her an instant hit amongst the other patients in the facility where she inadvertently becomes a source of inspiration to many including Divine. Izzy adamantly chooses action. And she chooses it no matter how it looks. ‘We all must treat ourselves like the Gods we are.’
Simultaneously across the country in Reno Nevada, Pamela, a Giant from Asgard plots with her goons to capture Izzy. Pamela has come to earth with the one remaining God, Lonny. In exchange for his life, he’ll bait Izzy with the promise of his powers in exchange for an apple to extend his life.
Izzy gets unexpected insight into Divine during a group outing to a bar. In a private conversation Divine confesses to backing the treatment center with her own money and keeping it a secret. For her it’s always about healing people not depending on medication to do a human’s job. It’s her life’s work. All of her parent’s millions didn’t save them from medicinal addiction. She will put those millions to the best use fighting the good fight.
During this outing bonding happens between them all. Pictures and videos are posted to Instagram and Facebook in good fun. Izzy’ joins in on the fun and a fellow patient helps her open an account. Izzy’s posts a few pictures and loves the ‘likes’. But one of the ‘likes’ comes with a comment. ‘Check your DM’. When she does she realizes what’s happening.
To protect the patients Izzy convinces Divine to come with her outside of the hospital for a life and death situation. With convincing Divine does. She and Divine are led to a hotel where Izzy and Lonny come face to face. In this meeting Izzy makes an apple appear, but withholds it from Lonny who is dying. Izzy is a step ahead and secured the room so Pamela can’t enter.
Lonny hands Izzy a pendant around his neck, which holds his power in exchange for an apple. Izzy tosses the pendant to Divine and instructs her to put it on. She does and an energy surges through her that’s unexplainable. Divine begins to understand that this sweet old woman’s stories may have been true.
Izzy stands over a begging Lonny and whispers in his ear ‘ I’m glad I’m the one who gets to see you die.’ She turns to Divine and says ‘Become who you are’. Divine bites the apple. The new Gods are coming.
Izzy’s tone is similar to that of KPax in that it is mysteriously engaging.
This story will explore the daily struggles of being a victim and illustrates the unexpected strength we all have inside regardless of any circumstance.
An undertone of greed versus humanity will be illustrated as well.
This will be illustrated with Divine’s battle to keep her patients from being overmedicated.
Izzy has the emotional drive of an elite professional athlete – once she’s decided what task needs to be conquered, she will not stop until it’s done.
This aspect is illustrated in her relentless support of empowering her fellow patients and herself as well.
Izzy is unique from other heroine’s because there’s an everyday quality in her that we all can relate to. She’s accessible, yet wise and beyond, leaving us to question the hero in all of us that we’ve yet to let out.
IZZY – (late 60’s to early 70’s) Kind, sweet and trusting of the good within everything and everyone. This kind woman was manipulated, lied to, and coerced for her sole power of making apples that when eaten by the Gods, preserved their youth and gave them immortality while living in Asgard. This mistreatment wore on her over the years and through a clever plan of her own, she turns the table on the Gods and forces their hand, forcing a banishment of another ‘God like’ figure in Asgard to earth. Izzy doesn’t let the figure go alone and she joins him, unbeknownst to the Gods. And along the way to earth, with specific knowledge of the banishing device she disengages herself to a different location than the ‘God like’ figure. She lands on the 6 train in NYC in a flash of light at 2:30 am, greeted by a drunk homeless man to a world she has no idea of.
DIVINE SIMS– (mid to late 20’s) Extraordinarily and uniquely herself is the best way to describe Divine. She’s an only child and heiress to real estate moguls, philanthropists and ultimately drug addicted socialites, Leonard and Risa Sims. Divine’s story is a rags to riches one with a multitude of twists, turns, pitfalls and triumphs along the way. Through all she saw and experienced she grew up very quickly.
From the poorest of public schools, to being home schooled to the finest private schools, the value of relying on yourself to learn the most in any situation, is something she holds close and embraces. And from having a meal every two days, to maids and chef’s at her beckon call, taught her to appreciate what one has and to never take it for granted. She also learned the accessibility of money, and the power of creating one’s own empire from one’s own thoughts. That being said, money is not what motivates her. She seeks to help people become the best version of themselves. Her belief is in connection. The very same connection she had with her parents when they were alive. She works at The Odyssey Treatment Center in Harlem, NY. These patients are at the final step before being admitted to an insane asylum to be studied and eventually forgotten about. If, Divine’s parents had a facility like this one, and a counselor with the courage, compassion and dedication of Divine, they would still be here today. Divine’s methods are to enforce human connection with minimal to no medication involved. She’s had patients take to her methods and be back in the real world within 6 weeks and some that have been with her from her day one, 4 years ago. Unlike other treatment centers where there is pressure to funnel patients in and out for monetary purposes, Divine secretly absorbs the cost to keep patients there as long as they need to be. And although she’s constantly in turmoil with her boss, Gary, she plays her part because she also believes there is a best version of Gary that he simply hasn’t discovered yet.
LONNY – (late 70’s) He is the last God alive. This shape shifter and trickster is responsible for the incident that turned Izzy into a woman scorned causing her to banish herself and virtually extinct the Gods and alter the Universe as he knows it. It’s his hope that one last ‘trick’ will be able to save his life, as well as enable him to run the world as he sees fit since he will be the only God in existence. The world is his to do what he wants with it. How he wants with it. The problem is his last ‘trick’ involves help from
PAMELA, another scorned woman that he’s indebted to for killing her father Paul. PAMELA – (19) the only daughter of the slain God PAUL, from Thyrmheim aka Thunder Home aka land of the Giants. Her father had gifted Izzy to her when she was 12 years old.
Unbeknownst to her at the time, her father had actually kidnapped Izzy from Lonny to use her for her apples. Paul’s hope was his daughter’s purity would appeal to Izzy because giants were frowned upon in the universe and solely seen as monsters of destruction. His hope worked. Izzy grew very fond of Pamela and they bonded over many things including Pamela’s disagreement on the destruction that her people constantly took part of. She saw her people as a misunderstood culture, and surely with a fresh perspective and start, things could turn around. Izzy and her sought out to the elders ailed with sickness and Izzy gave them apples restoring their youth and health. In the midst of them bonding, Izzy was kidnapped back by Lonny and her father was slain for taking her in the first place. Pamela is out to avenge her father’s death and to take back what she believes was her gift / property in Izzy. Pamela strikes a deal with Lonny to help find Izzy to set things straight. What Lonny doesn’t know is that his life is in danger if he doesn’t find Izzy and if he does find Izzy. Pamela will see to it either way. Pamela travels with four giant like gentlemen. They are body builder types. They are loyal to her, brawn and brains to boot.
GARY –(40’s) Divine’s boss at The Odyssey Treatment Center. Money drives him. A slick character and he’s proud of it. His job is simply another notch on his resume to foster his aspiring political career. All bark and no bite, he likes the sound of his voice and the ‘power’ that he believes he has not only at the Center, but as someone to be reckoned with in NYC because of his close affiliation with MAYOR ROBERT DONALDSON. Mayor Donaldson has had a very illicit affair with one of the patients, LAYLA MYERS. In order to make sure this relationship remains hush hush, Donaldson visits the Center every month with a camera crew to show his support of the patients in the Center, which is then blasted through various outlets making him look good. But before the cameras are on, he makes sure that Gary is monetarily taken care of. Gary in turn, makes sure that Layla’s dosage of medication is stronger than it should be. Donaldson is up for re-election and will see to it that Gary’s political aspirations are met within his camp as long as he keeps Layla drugged and hazy.
LAYLA MYERS – (late 20’s, early 30’s) prostitute. Street smart, ambitious and savvy. A fan of a plan executed well. Prostitution is as much about the mathematics of tax-free money as it is about the thrill of the chase for her. Not a street walker, she has her own service similar to Ashley Madison (she claims they stole her idea) Ultimately she wants to run her own Bunny Ranch type business and with the proper partner she knows it can and will happen. What she didn’t plan on was breaking her only rule: keep it business, never personal. She’s fallen for Mayor Donaldson or ‘Bobby’ as she refers to him. And he’s fallen for her as well. There is video to prove it. Intimate stuff. Cute couple stuff. Stuff stuff. Her plan wasn’t ever to extort him, it was to support him in his endeavors and he agreed to do the same for hers. All was good and secretive until A TMZ video went viral of them embraced coming out of a secluded and known sex club in the wee hours of the morning. As research of the mystery woman came about, it brought unwanted heat on Donaldson and his bid for re-election. And to clean it up, she’s been placed in the Treatment Center after he drugged a drink of hers causing her body to physically form an addiction that she now has to be treated for. Layla is fighting to get straight and get her story out, but because of the deal Donaldson has with Gary to spike her medication, she stays in a haze of what sounds to be complete foolishness and psychobabble.
NURSE MONTY –(50’s) Think Nurse Rachet from One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest times ten. No nonsense, by the book, her job is to get the job done and in excellence. Hired specifically by Gary, (who also pays her bonus money on the side to keep things in order) she is constantly trying to curtail Divine’s holistic methods of doing things, opting for the more traditional medication based methods of treating patients. Oddly enough she’s a film nerd, but absolutely and unequivocally will not watch anything to do with CLOWNS. She has a deep-seated fear of them. So much to the point if the film ‘IT’ is mentioned she immediately breaks into a sweat and has to medicate herself.
BARBARA LITH – (60’s) Old school money from the Lith legacy of New York State. Barbara floats in and out of the Treatment Center because she feels like it. 7. A self appointed ‘fucking opinionist’ she is blunt, bored and seeking information for her book that she’s been writing for the last 30 years entitled ‘Eye don’t give a FUCK’. She’s on chapter 2 out of 4. Barbara takes a special interest in Izzy and instead of floating in and out of the Center like she usually does, she chooses to stay, observe and soak up the truth about this very very interesting woman Izzy. At some point not only does Bonnie believe Izzy about where she’s from and the stories she tells, but figures why she’s really there.
DANIEL FOSTER –(30’s) – struggling musician / bartender that is Divine’s live in boyfriend. He’s the very needed dose of balance that she needs. A very passionate guy, he always sees the bright side of any and every situation. As much as he loves Divine’s dedication to her job, between her hours and his constant grind to get his band gigging regularly he feels like their relationship is losing out to all of the ‘doing’ in their lives. He’s at a crossroads because he wants a commitment from Divine that she’s not ready to give – marriage.
RICO JEANS –(mid 30’s) Wise cracking, funny guy who is a patient at the Center. No one quite knows his story, but he has a story for EVERYTHING. No matter, the situation, circumstance, conundrum, he’s been there, done that, conquered it. This guy has tales taller than the skyscrapers in the city itself.
He’s completely in love with Divine and the reason he stays is every 8-10 days he goes into a state of silence and depression that leads him to doing erratic things such as trying to hang himself, or running into the walls so hard that he knocks himself unconscious.
RECURRING CHARACTERS, PROPS, THEMES
Izzy’s apples – The presence of them is inimitable throughout the film. Folklore that’s proven real in the last scene of the film when Izzy produces one out of thin air in front of Divine.
The Odyssey Treatment Center for Rehab – based off of THE ODYSSEY HO– USE in Harlem NYC. – https://odysseyhousenyc.org
A treatment facility that is the last stop before society throws them away and usually into an insane asylum.
The theme of what a ‘victim’ is and the crippling belief that perpetuates the mindset of one.
Exploration of holistic therapy vs. westernized medicine.
The theme of women and what their ‘role’ is in society – the workplace, the home, as a professional, socially and politically.
The adage ‘what goes around comes around’
INT. HOTEL ROOM – EVENING
No frills. Dimly lit, shades closed. On the bed against the headboard sits a MAN Indian style with his eyes closed. He has white hair to match his shirt and linen pants. A GREEN PENDANT hangs from a necklace. The pendant dimly glows. We HEAR him breathing. Slowly. There’s a knock at the door.
His eyes open. They are a dull blue. A look of ease and hope spread across his otherwise daunt and pale face. This is LONNY. He simply looks at the door and nods. FROM HIS NOD THE DOOR OPENS. Inside walks in IZZY and DIVINE. THE DOOR SHUTS BEHIND THEM. Divine is startled. Izzy squeezes her hand to reassure her. Izzy and Lonny lock eyes. No words. Just history. So many thoughts running through Divine’s mind – could Izzy really be who she claims to be?
I said to come alone.
I can leave you two –
She’s fine. I received your message. I’m here.
Lonny attempts to ease the tension.
LONNY SPEAKS TO IZZY IN THE LANGUAGE SPOKEN ON ASGARD AND DIVINE RESPONDS AS SUCH.
Very clever what you did. I didn’t think you had it in you. None of us did.
Lonny takes off his necklace and holds it out for Izzy.
To think that I, or any of us could expect forgiveness for our actions is ridiculous.
She takes the pendant and inspects it.
LONNY (CONT’D) I can only speak for myself in offering my deepest regret and apologies –
Bribes won’t help you now.
Divine is blown away. She recognizes the language. It’s the same language Izzy spoke when she first got to The Odyssey Treatment Center.
LONNY That’s far from a bribe. That will give you –
And Izzy speaks in ENGLISH.
I know what it is. The ability to shape shift is of no interest to me. You are of no interest to me, Lonny.
Izzy hands the Pendant to Divine who is in shock. Izzy smiles at her.
Trust what you’re being told, Divine. Trust who you are. It is your time.
Divine’s eyes get big. She looks at Lonny. Lonny looks at her and then to Izzy. Izzy holds her hands up in a CRADLE FASHION directly ABOVE HER HEART. SHE CLOSES HER EYES AND TAKES TWO DISTINCT BREATHS. Lonny knows what’s happening – his eyes become more alive with hope. AT THE END OF THE SECOND BREATH IZZY EXHALES FOR FIVE SECONDS AND MOVES HER HANDS BACK AND FORTH IN A CRADLING FASHION.
AN APPLE APPEARS.
Divine’s mind races. This is happening. This is real. Izzy is who she has said she was the entire time. Divine knows she can no longer ignore the voice within telling her who she really is. Izzy looks back at Divine.
Put it on.
Divine does. The pendant glows brighter against her chest. Divine begins to breathe quickly. Lonny’s demeanor changes from hope to despair, but he’s too weak to do anything about it.
IZZY (CONT’D) (to Divine)
Hey you. (imitates Divine) ‘Listen to your breath and like it, damnit. You got nothing but space and opportunity for the next one!’
Divine beams and follows her own mantra, but is still in disbelief. Izzy turns back to Lonny holding the apple in front of him. With all that he has left in him he lunges for it. Izzy easily moves out of the way and laughs. Divine notices. This is not sweet Izzy.
As Lonny attempts to pick himself off the bed, Izzy leans down in his ear. SHE SPEAKS IN THE GODS LANGUAGE.
I’m glad you’re the last one. I’m glad I get to see you die.
Lonny looks up at her.
Please. I’m sorry. I will do anything you ask. Please …
Izzy grins – evil. She tosses the apple to Divine still in the God’s language.
Become who you are.
Divine is surprised that she understands. Lonny’s face falls as Divine BITES THE APPLE and we
FADE TO BLACK: AND FROM HERE WE BEGIN THE FILM TO TELL THE STORY.
Izzy banishes herself to earth and winds up on the 6 train in NYC at 2:30 am in a FLASH OF LIGHT. The car is empty except for a drunk homeless man that stumbles to her and inquires as to how she did that trick. After some more senseless babble, Izzy makes an apple appear and offers it to him.
Shit, can you make a hooker and 20 bucks appear instead?
He stumbles off. Izzy simply rides the train. Time passes and people get on and off the train and Izzy simply rides back and forth never getting off the train. In this new land she’s simply observing HUMAN BEHAVIOR. About her fourth straight day on the train a MAN notices that this Izzy has been in the same clothes, same car, same seat, and same look on her face. He sits next to her and attempts to strike up conversation with her. The man very kindly asks her all types of questions. Izzy is unable to answer because she’s simultaneously processing English in her mind from the language she speaks with the Gods. She pays attention to the man because of his kind energy. Suddenly, her attention is diverted and she beelines towards the end of the car. The man follows her as she makes her way through the crowd until she comes upon a MAN and WOMAN in an argument. The woman is crying. The man, clearly in the wrong, places blame on his woman for his indiscretions with other women.
A typical argument for most is not at all for Izzy. The emotion emanating from the female hits too close to home. Izzy furiously approaches the man hurling what can only be taken as severe cursing in her native language and shields the woman from continuously being berated. Surrounding passengers record this entire exchange on their phones. The enraged man knocks a few phones away and knocks Izzy down trying to get at his girlfriend. This causes the KIND MAN who was attempting to find out about Izzy to intervene resulting in a melee where others become involved as well. Izzy watches from the ground during the chaos. Eventually the train is stopped and transit authority and police are on the scene. People explain and show footage. ONE COP in particular is off to the side trying to understand Izzy. Because of his inability to understand her he believes that she’s not speaking an actual language, because he and other Officers have no idea what language it could be. Because of Izzy’s odor, confirmation from the KIND MAN that she’s been in the same clothes for four days straight and her suddenly springing to action for no real reason, it’s concluded that she needs help. And instead of jail, The Odyssey Center to rehab individuals with substance abuse issues is brought up. The cop himself had dealt with substance abuse and straightened himself out under the guidance of Divine Sims.
Against the majority feeling of his fellow officers he chooses to pay it forward and take Izzy there.
Divine processing in Izzy. Asking her questions about her family, where she is from etc. At this point Izzy has processed English and answers the questions truthfully which sound like she’s on drugs to Divine.
I hail from Asgard and am what you would consider 2,345 years old here in the earthly realm. Time is infinite, but the fault of balance here requires a beginning and an end.
She can’t quite keep her focus as she sits with a mirror and checks herself out, trying to make sense of her new exterior.
Which would explain the severity of my change in physical appearance and ability to move as freely. Here I’m actively in the process of ‘aging’, hence I am now ‘old’.
In the middle of Divine processing Izzy and her discovery on age an interruption occurs from LAYLA.
He’s trying to erase my memory! He’s trying to erase me!
This happens daily when she’s supposed to take her medication and although the NURSE MONTY and three men have her cornered, she fights them off. It’s only when Divine rescues the situation and calms Layla that she takes her medicine. It’s quite the ordeal, but this is what Divine does. She’s the absolute glue to this treatment center. This incident sticks with Izzy. In this hospital we learn of the bureaucracy that exist. How Gary can’t fire Divine, although he wants to because her keeping these patients as long as she does cost the facility money that he could be skimming for himself.
In the ‘old boys’ network that runs these type of facilities, Divine being an African American woman with multiple degrees and the only child from Leonard and Risa Sims, (heroes to NYC and the world) would cost him his job, status and power he values. Divine is constantly fighting the good fight and with her personal touch, and bending the rules for good, she gets results that other staff simply cannot. Divine believes in mediation as necessary, but more holistic methods to all addiction. She believes in reaching within and dealing with the root of the issues, not just putting band aids (medication) on everything. Her belief in meditation is to ‘actively meditate’. Her mantra is …
Listen to your breath and like it, damnit. You got nothing but space and opportunity for the next one!
She saw the destruction and eventual deaths to her parents from medication addiction. She saw it first hand and despite all the money she has, her life’s work is to see to it that people are mentally healthy. Medication doesn’t ensure that, but real human interaction can and does when it comes to her and how she deals with her patients. Unlike other facilities, they have holistic methods to deal with things along WITH medication. Divine is proficient in all and can teach all if need be.
– Instructed Yoga and meditation.
– Guided journaling
– Martial Arts
– Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Jin Jitsu, Capo era Dance
The crux of the movie deals with Divine trying to get Izzy past her past. From the stories that Izzy shares, Divine believes despite the ludicrous parts of her stories ‘ gods, spells, shape shifting, etc’, she wholeheartedly believes that she’s a woman that’s been wronged and needs to deal with it head on, in order to get past it to be the best version of her and live a healthy life. As time moves on Divine and everyone else experiences that, Izzy being in the treatment center has brought a commonality of good to all in there including Gary for a brief moment.
In group settings when people share, Izzy seems to have a common thread with a story, sometimes it harkens to what she went through as a GOD, which they all think she’s crazy BUT Barbara takes to one of Izzy’s stories as a GOD, claiming that she loves that she thinks of herself that way.
Fuck already! If we all thought of ourselves as fucking gods (to Izzy) No offense … (to the group) We’d all be fucking great!
Izzy’s comments are real and sincere. Her way of being is different. Her truth touches everyone. Even if it’s unlikely. She simply makes everyone feel GOOD.
The God within all of you predicates you are to be treated as such. All of you. Worthy. As you all lend to down here ‘Every single day’.
The real power isn’t in controlling the weather, shape shifting or even immortality from my apples. The real power as I’m learning is what I’m learning from all of you. Connection, kindness and love.
With each patient she has a moment with them that we see to help them through their impediment, be it medication, mental blocks or both. She always has apples to give people. It becomes a joke as to how she’s sneaking these apples in, but the apples are good and people, staff included love the gesture.
Fuck. An apple day keeps the doctor away, right? Izzy you should sell these motherfuckers, or bottle that magic shit to make them and sell it!
The more time Izzy spends in the treatment center, the more her memory starts to come back. Simultaneously at VENICE MUSCLE BEACH in California, in the back in an office is a meeting between FOUR GUYS and a girl named PAMELA and LONNY.
All that’s discussed is that before the balance of the universe is completely upended, order must be restored before the last God dies (LONNY).
There is no choice but to capture Izzy and restore balance. And it is our duty to do so. Now.
The girl Pamela is the daughter of Paul who died as a result of Lonny kidnapping Izzy who at that point was a gift to Pamela from her father Paul. Pamela feels that Izzy is her property and they set out to find her, knowing she’s in NYC because of social media. A MEME has been trending out of Izzy from the incident on the train.
Pamela is smart. She’s wicked. She’s vengeful and as Lonny and the rest of the gods were dying off, she took Lonny in a weakened state to earth with her, to avenge her father’s death. Because of the Giant’s powers, she’s managed to not age or get nearly as weak as Lonny or Izzy, BUT she is not a GOD, but has the DNA to become one. She’s made a deal with Lonny to protect him and keep him alive as long as he agrees to share info to find Izzy and to lure her to him, knowing that Izzy will want to find him. Pamela’s plan is to use Lonny as bait and to in fact appeal to Izzy through their commonality of pain from their shared past. Let Lonny die and to convince Izzy to give her the apples and they can rule the universe together. Divine takes the crew of her patients to a bar that her live in boyfriend Daniel tends bar at. She gets grief for taking the field trip from Gary but Divine believes in treating these people like humans, not like an outcast because of their problems. She chooses a bar because all of them at some point have dealt with alcohol dependency which has led to other vices. She wants to show them they are strong enough to face it head on and defeat it that way. Barbara leads a toast and before you know it, all the patients are drunk.
Happy and drunk, making fun of themselves, imitating each other’s impediments and realizing that they can in fact control themselves. They are strong enough to conquer their demons. Daniel joins in on some conversation and we get the love they have for each other, even though something is just a bit off about their relationship. We find out about Divine’s background here. Divine opens up about how she wishes that what was in Izzy’s head was TRUE. She thinks she’d make a GREAT GOD etc. She even lays out what she’d do. She speaks to one of Izzy’s story, maybe the date rape one and how she would rectify people and save them, etc. Divine clearly feeling a little tipsy …
… there’s so much more to life than money … so much more to live for. How perfect would it be if we all held each other in the esteem of GODS?
They all stare at her – she’s drunk.
DIVINE (CONT’D) Right?
They toast to the GODS. In this scene they take photos, IG posts are made and Izzy opens an account. At this point in the film from all of her stories and experiences and attempts through the holistic methods to cure herself, slowly but surely Izzy’s memory comes back clearer and clearer. She knows that if all the Gods are dead, then the NEW GODS are coming, and if the old ones aren’t dead then she knows that someone is still alive and that she’s in danger because they will be looking for her. Back at the treatment center Izzy sits in her room by herself. She flashes back to a conversation with Zeus. In this conversation he tells her if the universe was ever nearing the end that a storm of infinite lightening, no thunder and non stop rain would permeate the earth for 36 earth hours straight and then sunlight would light the way for 24 earth hours to restore the balance. She closes her eyes and goes to sleep.
She hashtags – #apples #gods #findme It’s all in her language. She ends the video citing the date she banished herself. The message is eerie, but she lets them all know that her time has come to go and Divine must join her and she begins to leave. Divine stops her and they have a quick conversation. From the conversation Divine will not her go alone but she feels that whatever Izzy needs to do could be the key to her freeing herself from the prison of her past. Izzy shows Divine a picture of Pamela as one of her bodybuilder bodyguards is now following her on IG. As she checks out his page SHE SEES a picture of PAMELA. And immediately she recognizes her and her memory comes back of how it was explained to her by Lonny that her father was killed which she indirectly had to do with. She sleeps good and long because of the alcohol. She wakes up to find everyone outside staring out the window. Barbara turns around
This your people with all this lightening Iz? This shit is crazy. No thunder just fucking lightening. Never seen anything like it.
Izzy grabs Divine and Layla and gets the benefits of social media. She winds up making a video that sends a message to whomever she believes might be after her.
Izzy forgot to turn off the location feature. Divine senses something could really be wrong and she agrees to leave with Izzy as they now have formed a real bond.
In order to get by Nurse Monty in the front, Divine makes up Izzy’s face to resemble the clown from IT.
Frozen with fear and sweating, Nurse Monty gives no resistance. They leave.
Pamela has Lonny reach out to Izzy to let her know that he wants to meet up and he implores her that he knows that she’s in danger and he can help her restore things to the way it should be. 15. He gives an address. Divine and Izzy head there. Izzy is set to make things right.
The last God must die, in order for the new ones to come.

Get to Know the Story: Izzy
Here at Rogue Matter we’re constantly churning out content, but also recognize that it’s important to take the time to properly introduce each and every new release to you! ???? Today, we’d like to present the story Izzy and invite you to read it. And though we’ve started the story, you have the opportunity to help us add to it! Just head on over to our Quest Board to begin exploring!
In 2018, Divine Sims, head counselor of The Odyssey Treatment Center for Rehab in Harlem, NYC prioritizes the healing of a woman who calls herself Izzy who claims to have banished herself to Earth from the planet Asgard because of being repeatedly mistreated and taken advantage of by the Gods. Izzy claims to have done this knowing these Gods will die without access to her sole power—she makes apples that give them their youth and immortality. She tells her stories in convincingly honest, vulnerable and relatable way, but one question arises time and time again—could Izzy really be who she says she is? And when a situation comes about that leads Izzy and Divine out of the Treatment Center to deal with Izzy’s past, not even Divine is ready for the answers.
16 Sultry Movie Vampires That Will Make You BEG for Immortality from Izzy
[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hen it comes to immortality, we’ve got you covered with the Gods and Goddesses in Izzy. But when it comes to sexy immortality, vampires are the clear winners. Seriously, who can possibly think werewolves are remotely close to being as enticing as vampires are? It’s in a vampire’s very nature to be seductive, using their charms to win over victims.
And by “win over,” we mean “suck the life out of.” They’ve got those pointy fangs for a reason, after all, and they know how to use them.
We probably shouldn’t find vampires as attractive as they are, but we can blame the Hollywood bigwigs for casting ridiculously good-looking actors as our favorite monsters. Here are 16 of the Sexiest Movie Vampires ever:
Movie Magic: The De-Aging Technique of The Irishman
Have you read Izzy yet? If so, you know that Izzy makes the apples that give the Gods their youth and immortality. It also seems Robert De Niro discovered one of Izzy’s apples too… In Martin Scorsese’s upcoming biographical film, he stars as Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran, a labor union leader and alleged hitman for the Bufalino crime family. The trailer for the movie, which will premieres NEXT WEEK (!), also features a “de-aged” De Niro. “We’re so used to watching them as the older faces,” Scorsese said in an interview on the A24 podcast. “Does it change the eyes at all? …If that’s the case, what was in the eyes that I liked? Was it intensity? Was it gravitas? Was it threat?…How do we get that? I don’t know.” Some might consider this magic and I for one can’t wait to see the impact of Izzy’s apples on screen for myself. ????
